Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information InfraHacks collects when you apply or interact with us, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By applying, you agree to this policy.

What we collect

When you submit an application, we collect the information you provide, which may include:

Your name and email address
Your age, country, and school or organization
Your experience level and team status
Your application answers and any links you share (e.g. GitHub, LinkedIn)
Technical data needed to operate the service, such as your IP address (used only to prevent spam and abuse)

How we use it

To review your application and decide whether to admit you
To email you about your application status and essential event details
To run the event: team formation, mentorship, and communications
To prevent spam, fraud, and abuse

We do not sell your personal information. We will only email you about InfraHacks, and every non-essential email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers that help us run the event, under their own privacy and security commitments:

Supabase: secure database hosting for your application
Resend: sending transactional and announcement emails
Vercel: website and application hosting

We may share limited, relevant information with track sponsors only with appropriate safeguards, and we will never hand over your contact details for unrelated marketing.

Minors

InfraHacks is open to participants aged 13 and older. If you are under the age of majority where you live, please review this policy with a parent or guardian before applying. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by emailing privacy@infrahacks.org. You can unsubscribe from announcement emails using the link in any such email. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor valid requests under those laws.

Data retention & security

We keep application data only as long as needed to run the event and for a reasonable period afterward, then delete or anonymize it. Access to your data is restricted, the database is locked down with row-level security, and all traffic is served over HTTPS.
