Code of Conduct

InfraHacks is a space for builders to make ambitious things and meet good people. That only works if everyone feels safe and welcome. This Code of Conduct applies to all participants, mentors, judges, sponsors, and organizers, across every InfraHacks space: our website, Discord, video calls, livestreams, and submissions.

The short version

Be excellent to each other. Treat everyone with respect. Assume good faith. Make room for people who are newer, quieter, or different from you. Don't be the reason someone leaves.

Expected behavior

Be respectful and considerate in how you speak and act.
Welcome newcomers and first-time hackers: most of our field is exactly that.
Give and accept constructive feedback gracefully.
Respect people's time, work, identities, and boundaries.
Keep your project your own: build during the event and credit anything you didn't.

Unacceptable behavior

We do not tolerate, in any form:

Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination based on gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, age, or appearance.
Unwelcome sexual attention, sexual language or imagery, or stalking.
Hate speech, slurs, threats, or violent language.
Doxxing or sharing others' private information without consent.
Cheating: including code written before the hackathon begins, plagiarism, or misrepresenting your work.
Sustained disruption of talks, workshops, judging, or Discord.

If something happens

If you experience or witness a violation, or anything makes you feel unsafe, contact the organizers immediately at conduct@infrahacks.org or by DMing any organizer in Discord. Reports are taken seriously and handled confidentially.

Organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including a warning, removal from the event, disqualification, and a ban from future InfraHacks events, without refund where applicable.

Minors

InfraHacks is open to participants aged 13 and up. We expect every participant, regardless of age, to follow this Code of Conduct, and we ask everyone to be especially mindful and supportive of younger builders in our community.
